Effects of Certain Pesticides on the Predatory Mite Typhlodromus ndibu Pritchard and Baker (Acari: Phytoseiidae)

Typhlodromus ndibu Pritchard and Baker (Acari: Phytoseiidae), collected from citrus orchards in the southern region of Vietnam, has been identified as a natural enemy red mite Panonychus citri (McGregor) Tetranychidae). It holds potential laboratory-reared predator for biological control purposes. However, research on T. remains limited. This study focuses investigating effects fenpyroximate, alpha-cypermethrin, pymetrozin, buprofezin, matrine, azadirachtin this predatory laboratory conditions. Fenpyroximate was most toxic substance against ndibu, affecting its fertility, egg-hatching rate, population establishment ability. The mortality rate among adult female is (73.97 ± 2.43%), (89.09 0.00%) immature stages after 72 h exposure to fenpyroximate. Matrine azadirachtin—active ingredients plant origin—were classified slightly harmful with rates females being less than 50%. implications obtained results regarding integration chemical methods may facilitate more effective development integrated pest management (IPM) programs.
